I Read My $13.6M VSL Line by Line and Explained Every Decision

My name is Daniel Fazio. Over the past four years, my team and I have collected $30 million across SaaS, done-for-you, and consulting offers. The VSL I'm breaking down here generated $13.6 million for our cold email setup offer—and I'm going to walk you through every structural decision I made and why. If you're running an agency or thinking about starting one, you need a VSL on your website. This breakdown will show you exactly how to script one that converts. ## Start With a Headline That Sells the Outcome My headline was: "We will build you a cold email infrastructure inside your business so you can sign more high-ticket clients without having to do it yourself or pay a monthly retainer to an outside agency." Straight away I'm selling the outcome, not the service. Nobody buys cold email—they buy the result cold email gets them. That's why the next thing I included was a specific result: get 20 to 60 additional sales calls per month and close your next 20 clients. Without that, people have no frame of reference. They don't know what's possible, so they don't care. ## Use Bullet Points to Neutralize Pain Points Under the headline I listed what people wouldn't have to deal with: - Without spending tens of thousands on ads

  • Without paying a monthly retainer

  • Without spending 20 hours building the infrastructure yourself

  • While retaining 100% ownership of the system These came directly from analyzing sales calls. Those were the real objections people had. I just put them on the page before anyone even asked. ## Give B2B Buyers Chapter Controls Because I was running ads to cold traffic, I added chapter markers so viewers could skip to what mattered most to them. B2B buyers don't want their time wasted. Give them the controls and they'll trust you more for it. I also told them upfront exactly what the VSL would cover: expected ROI, why cold email works, what we do, KPIs, pricing, and a CTA. Transparency builds credibility. ## Lead With Proof, Not Claims The first real section was expected ROI and results. I showed screenshots of actual campaigns—one booked 52 calls, another 33, another 30. I also mentioned that when we first started ListKit, we scaled to $1.3 million ARR by sending 10,000 cold emails a day, and I showed the evidence. Then I layered in case studies of other people who got results. The rule here is simple: every claim needs evidence immediately after it. ## Answer "Why This Over Everything Else?" Anyone who gets on a call about client acquisition is already thinking about alternatives—ads, content marketing, referrals. So I addressed it head-on: cold email puts you in front of the actual decision maker, not an inbox. It's cheaper than ads. And I showed real reply screenshots of prospects asking to book calls—because people assume cold email just gets ignored. ## Show the System Visually I walked through exactly how the cold email infrastructure works: leads, domains, inboxes, a sending platform, and how they all connect. I built a simple flowchart in Lucidchart (you can use ChatGPT image generation or similar tools now) that showed the whole system visually. This works for any offer. People want to understand the system they're buying into. Show them what it looks like. ## Make the Complexity Visible Here's something most people miss: if you don't explain how complex or technical your service is, people won't understand why they should pay you. I walked through every step required to set up deliverability correctly—DNS records, warm-up sequences, inbox rotation—all of it. I wasn't trying to overwhelm anyone. I was just being honest. And the natural reaction from someone non-technical is: "I don't want to deal with that. Do it for me." That's the sale. ## Set Realistic KPIs After the complexity section, people are wondering how it could go wrong. So I gave them honest KPI ranges—average results, worst-case results, best-case results. This builds trust and sets proper expectations before they ever get on a call. ## Walk Through What They Actually Get I listed every deliverable: domains, inboxes, sending platform setup, warm-up, email scripts, lead lists—all of it. Then I compared it to the alternatives: learning it yourself, hiring an agency, or buying from us. I made the argument for our option only. You're not writing a balanced essay—you're selling. Argue your side exclusively. ## On Revealing Pricing In this VSL I revealed pricing because it was genuinely affordable and that transparency helped conversion. That said, it's not a universal rule. Sometimes a price range works better. Sometimes no pricing is the right call. It depends entirely on your offer and your audience. Use judgment. What I always include alongside pricing is a qualifier—some condition that filters out the wrong buyers before they book a call. ## Handle Objections Before the CTA Before my call-to-action, I addressed the most common objections from sales calls: competitors offering cheaper prices (and why they're missing components), whether it's legal, CRM compatibility, and what technical support looks like. Answer the questions people are already asking in their heads. Then I gave a clear CTA, and after that, another one. ## The Format Itself One last thing worth noting: this entire VSL was me screen-sharing a Gamma doc and narrating it—exactly like a YouTube video. No memorized script. No fancy production. Just a side-by-side of me talking through slides. You can do the same thing. Keep it simple, structure it around outcomes and evidence, and let the logic do the selling.
