We Flew Business Class to London for a $25M Agency Owner's Birthday Party (Here's What I Learned)
We Got on a Plane
Me and Scott the cameraman got business class on an Airbus A330-900 Neo. She was in the poor people section. That's the kind of thing that happens when you stop making excuses and start making money.
London is my second favorite city in the world after New York. The vibes are different here — people just walk up to you and start talking. You just stand around and they come to you. Can't do that in most American cities.
YouTube Is the Cheat Code Nobody's Using
While we were in the air I was thinking about how simple the content system really is. Right now we're getting 500 to 1,500 passive views a day on YouTube. We've signed two clients exclusively from YouTube. Not from cold outreach. Not from paid ads. From YouTube.
So I made it standard operating procedure. By executive order, everyone inside Client Ascension has to make YouTube videos. Here's why: the system is stupidly simple.
The Exact Framework
Come up with a title that targets a specific search term — not a random video idea, a search term
SEO optimize it the right way before you publish
Release it and let it work passively
Repurpose everything — all your Twitter content, all your LinkedIn content becomes an output of the YouTube video
Add appointment setters who work the leads that come in from the content
That's it. You do that and you make a ton of money. It sounds too simple. Then you do it and you're like — holy shit, that actually works.
We get anywhere from 300 to 500 unique visitors to clientascension.com every single day from this system. Every day. You have to put effort into the world. You have to exert.
The London Birthday Banger
Zach threw his 25th birthday party at the Four Seasons — the one in Trinity Square with the penthouse. First birthday he'd celebrated in 17 years, which honestly says a lot. When you're locked in building something, you don't really stop to celebrate.
His speech hit different though. He got up and said something that stuck with me:
"Spent so many years looking at everything that could be better, things you could improve on, how much more we can do — but tonight is about celebrating everything we've achieved so far."
That's a mindset shift most entrepreneurs never make. You're always chasing the next thing. Always looking at the gap. And sometimes you just have to stop and acknowledge the distance you've already covered.
What Speed and Certainty Actually Mean in Sales
At the party we were talking about the fundamentals of closing clients. The framework is simple: speed and certainty.
When a prospect shares a result — a specific time period, a specific outcome — that's your proof point. You use that. You stack as many of those as you can. Multiple replications of speed and certainty. The more you have, the easier the sale.
The rest of it is just conversation. It's a podcast. They want to see if they can get something out of you, so you drop useful snippets. You give them real value in the conversation. That's how you close.
European Alcohol Is a Different Experience
Breaking news: European alcohol does not get you hungover the same way American alcohol does. I don't know what they're putting in American liquor but waking up after a night out in London and feeling fine is not something I expected. Felt charged. Felt sharp.
Also the trash bins here are all filled with sticks, which is genuinely fascinating to me.
What I'm Taking Back to Tampa
Every time I travel, I try to take something home with me — not just photos, not just stories, but an actual lesson or system I can apply.
This trip reinforced a few things:
One — content compounds. The YouTube system works. It works slowly, then all at once. Every video is a passive asset generating leads while you sleep.
Two — celebrate the wins. Zach hadn't celebrated his birthday in 17 years because he was locked in. There's a version of that grind that's necessary, but you have to pause sometimes. Recognize what you've built.
Three — environment matters. London has a different energy. People talk to you. The culture is different. Getting out of your normal surroundings rewires how you think. I'm going to be here for a couple months every year going forward — probably summer.
Four — substance indulgence is different from substance abuse. Important distinction.
We flew back to Tampa after that last round of debauchery. Business as usual. But with better content ideas and a clearer head than I had when I left.
