Why Nobody Is Buying Your Stuff (It's Not Your Offer)

There are two reasons nobody is buying your stuff. Most of you think it's the first one. Almost all of you are wrong — it's the second.

You Think You Have an Offer Problem

The first thing people do when sales are slow is mess with the offer. Change the headline. Rewrite the landing page. Rebrand the whole thing. But here's the truth: if your offer has a quantifiable promised end result and a guarantee, it works. Add case studies and you can drop the guarantee. That combination is not broken.

What's broken is that not enough humans are seeing it.

When you say "nobody is buying my stuff," you're technically correct — but for the wrong reason. There aren't enough people seeing the offer to generate enough purchases to keep you in business. Your offer is fine. Nobody knows it exists.

The Real Problem: Traffic and TAM

This breaks down into two subsections. The first is TAM — Total Addressable Market. How many humans on the planet would ever buy this?

A lot of people spin up an agency and decide to sell exclusively to, say, supplement e-commerce brands doing over $100K/month that sell creatine. They heard someone say "niche down" and they took it to an insane extreme. The problem? There are maybe 12 companies on earth that fit that description. Your TAM is too small.

Niching Down the Right Way

Yes, you should niche down — but not just to put a niche label on your website. Saying "plumbers" in your headline instead of "local businesses" doesn't move the needle unless you have case studies proving ROI for plumbers. The function of niching down is for the productization of your service, not as a magic conversion trick.

If you're early in your business, you're still in the discovery phase. You don't know what you're good at yet. You should be working with a broader range of clients to gather enough data points to know where your system actually performs. Locking into a hyper-specific niche before you have that evidence is a mistake.

You Have a Traffic Problem

If even two or three people have bought your $3K–$4K/month service, it's not broken. It's a traffic problem.

Here's a scenario: you have 1,000 followers on Twitter or an email list of 1,000 people. You launch your offer. Three people buy. Now you keep pushing the same offer to those same 1,000 people — and you wonder why it's not converting anymore. You exhausted your TAM. The humans you had immediate access to have already made their decision.

The solution is simple: you need more humans.

There are exactly three ways to do this on the entire planet:

  1. Content marketing

  2. Cold outreach

  3. Paid ads

That's it. Anyone telling you otherwise is wrong.

The Conversion Cycle Problem

Here's where people blow it. Every human has a conversion cycle — the time from when they first discover you exist to when they purchase. For a lot of people who've joined my coaching program, that cycle was one to two years. They followed me on Twitter for two years before buying.

When you run ads, you're floating capital. You pay the moment the ad is served. But your leads might have a 3-month conversion cycle. So you pay now, wait 3 months, and most people turn the ads off after four days because "it's not working." You never let the cycle complete.

The same logic applies to content marketing and cold outreach — except instead of floating capital, you're floating labor. And labor is just capital in disguise if you're paying someone to do it.

People start doing cold outreach (tools like Listkit for leads and Smartlead to scale sending make this dramatically faster), but they quit before their conversion cycles elapse. They assume it failed. It didn't. They just didn't give it enough time.

How to Expand Your TAM Deliberately

Here's something most people miss: you can artificially expand your TAM with the right product ecosystem.

Take my own business as an example. I sell script swipes, a cold email course, a high-ticket coaching program, and leads through Listkit. Each product can logically lead to any of the others. Someone buys cold email scripts, wants to scale, buys leads. Someone buys leads, wants better results, buys the course. Someone learns the system, needs help structuring their business, joins the coaching program.

This is a flywheel. You enter at any point and logically proceed through the others.

The key insight: I make a course to expand my TAM, not just to make money. I'm creating more cold emailers — which expands the pool of people who need leads, which expands the pool of people who need coaching. The products feed each other.

Compare that to building an agency and then selling a course on "how to build an agency like mine." You're just making competitors. There's no flywheel. No long-term economic logic. It makes zero sense.

The Summary

If you have clients, even a handful, your offer works. Stop touching it.

Your job now is to get more humans into the top of your funnel through content, cold outreach, or ads — and then give those people enough time to complete their conversion cycle before you declare failure.

Most people quit right before it would have worked. Don't be most people.
