How We Close $18,000 Deals Step by Step

My name is Daniel Fazio. We've done $30 million over the past four years across SaaS, done-for-you offers, and consulting. In a single day recently, we closed an $18,000 quarter deal, two $6,000/month deals, and a $3,500 quarter deal. That's a pretty regular occurrence. I started my first marketing agency about six years ago charging $1,000 to $1,500 a month. Over time, you learn to charge substantially more — but it's not just about the product. A lot of you already have something worth selling at a high price. You're just screwing up the other components. Let me walk you through all five. ## Component 1: A Cold Traffic Offer That Actually Sells Your offer needs four qualities to work with cold traffic. ### New Money
Your offer must be positioned as making the client money they wouldn't have made otherwise. CRO agencies struggle with this — people think you're just changing button colors and taking credit for revenue they'd have earned anyway. CRM reactivation offers have the same problem. You're not generating new money; you're optimizing something that already exists. Cold email outreach or paid ads? That's new money — leads that would never have existed without you. ### Done For You
The more your offer feels like you're doing the work, the better it converts. Selling a coaching or course offer to cold traffic is extremely difficult. People don't want to learn from someone they don't know yet. If you want to close $18,000 deals from cold traffic, there needs to be a heavy done-for-you component in the delivery. ### De-Risking
Here's a test I run with people who argue against offering a guarantee: "If I pitched you your own offer right now with no guarantee, would you buy it?" Almost every time, the answer is no. So why do you expect strangers on the internet to buy it? Unless you have massive authority and airtight case studies, you need a guarantee or performance-based pricing. You can protect yourself with contract stipulations — you only refund if the failure is clearly your fault. Very few people actually ask for refunds unless you're outright scamming them. ### Low Commitment
People are more afraid of losing money than they are excited about gaining it. That's a well-studied psychological phenomenon, and you need to use it. One-time payments, low entry prices, or early exit clauses all make it easier for someone to say yes. Stop trying to increase the promise and start decreasing the risk. ## Component 2: Traffic There are only three ways to get clients: cold outreach, content, and ads. Referrals and organic can fall under content. You need to pick one or all of these and go hard. I see this constantly with students — they build everything out and then send zero outreach and wonder why they have no leads. Or they get busy with fulfillment, turn off their traffic generation, and then wonder why they're struggling two months later. Traffic is one-third of your business. Sales is another third. Fulfillment is the last third. If you're a beginner, you probably think business is just fulfillment. It's not. Two-thirds of your business is getting people to buy. Marketing and sales are the company. Fulfillment is what you have to do because it would be illegal not to. ## Component 3: Sales Every sale should look roughly the same. Your pitch should be consistent, because 99% of people will raise the same objections every single time. When you find an objection handle that works, you stick with it — you don't reinvent it each call. A lot of you are fear-based sellers. You're so scared to promise a result that you say things like "you may or may not get results." That's a disaster. Nobody pays you to maybe get the result. They pay you to get the result. Sell it that way. One of the most effective tools we use is an ROI calculator. Walk the prospect through the numbers: expected calls booked, estimated close rate, cost per call, return on investment, customer LTV. When someone can see they might 3x or 4x their investment, the conversation shifts entirely. Show people the actual result they can get — most of you aren't doing this, and it's costing you deals. ## Component 4: Fulfillment If you're manually doing all the client work yourself, you will hit a ceiling fast. You need to map your fulfillment process like an assembly line and ask at each step: can AI automate this? If yes, automate it. If no, hire someone to manage it. One of the first hires most agencies should make is a customer success manager — someone who handles client communication so you're not the one doing it. From there, you build pods: a CSM managing fulfillment specialists, many of whom are operating AI tools themselves. If you believe nobody can do what you do as well as you, that's a skill deficiency in hiring, training, and managing — not proof that you're irreplaceable. Until you develop that skill, your ceiling stays low. ## Component 5: Authority To close $18,000 deals, you need some level of authority — either external credibility or demonstrated competence. Case studies are the most direct path. We maintain a public playlist of client results, and those case studies are a core reason people pay us at the level they do. The more evidence you stack, the higher the perceived probability of success for the next buyer. If you genuinely have no authority yet, a guarantee or performance-based model is how you compensate for that. Refusing to offer either while also having no track record is a dead end. --- All five of these components take real time and iteration to get right. If you want to shortcut the process, I run the AI Assisted Agency program with bi-weekly one-on-ones, group coaching calls, and direct access to me and my coaches. There's also a lower-cost AI Business Challenge if you're earlier in the process. Both come with a 60-day money-back guarantee. Links are in the description if you want to check them out.
